Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: May-Day!

Greetings, fellow Madisonians... or is it Madisonites? Cory, a little help here?

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: Talkin'... FOOTBALL???

It seems football has been on the front burner lately. And we’re barely a month into baseball, for crying out loud!

Of course the NFL draft is going on this weekend, which has most Vikings fans interested. Frankly, the only way I’d be interested is if they could figure out a way to trade Brad Childress for a washing machine ala “Semi Pro”.

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: The Weekly Recap

Just like the Twins’ offense as of late, I’m a little late in showing up with my blog posting this week. But unlike the Twins, I don’t think I’m capable of cranking out a Grand Slam and hit for the cycle!

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: The boys of summer (or is it late winter?)

....we interrupt Cory Heidelberger's political coverage to bring you this decidedly a-political sports blog!...

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: Why Sports?

The other night I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Madison wrestling team's awards banquet. Being an ex mat-rat myself, I enjoyed being in the company of fellow wrestlers and wrestling parents. At the end of the night, we watched a highlight video of the past season... it made me want to get a singlet, headgear and hit the mat again!

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: Realignment Musical Chairs

With the bulk of high school sports now officially in the books, athletic directors, coaches, and the SDHSAA are now gearing up for next school year. Already, the state has released the football schedule... and it looks like the Bulldogs will get to be "Road Warriors" again with their first two games on the road... Hot Springs in the first game, then to Sisseton!

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style: The Madness that is March

So we are in that annual rite of passage that is known as "March Madness." It's a time where debate over politics is replaced by discussion on whether or not Western Kentucky can be the next George Mason and make the Final Four (they won't).

But here in Madison, we've had our own little run of "March Madness", namely the Bulldog basketball teams.

Talkin' Sports, Madison-Style!

Hello!

Well, this is my first blog posting on RealMadison.org. Many thanks to Cory for helping me get set up here.
