I rolled a car once. Green 1964 VW Bug—well-shaped for rolling. Took a curve fast, caught a patch of gravel, spun, ditched, rolled. The car landed on its side. Seeing sparks as the battery tumbled out of the back seat, I leapt out the broken driver's side window and ran across the road, expecting a Hollywood explosion.

Last November, after the great Bulldog hacking caper, I recommended that the Madison Central School District administration improve its connection to students, parents, and the general public by blogging. Get the superintendent online once a week to give a little policy briefing, tell us what's coming up at the school board meeting, how the budget's doing, whatever might be of interest to the public. Open up comments, let the public post their input -- we'd love it!
