Mochavino to Offer Coffee and Wine... How About Books?

By caheidelberger - Posted on 10 January 2010

Jenny Bader is coming back to Madison with her husband Shaun to reopen a Main Street "third place." By the end of February, they hope to open Mochavino in the old Common Grounds building (or, for you ex-pats who've been away for a really long time, the old Burg's shoe store). Mochavino will sell coffee and alcoholic beverages.

So here's a thought: maybe Mochavino should add a reading room, like this Australian book store/wine bar:

Berkelouw Books, in Sydney's trendy inner-city suburb Leichhardt, has created a combined wine bar/reading room featuring a range of Australian wines and cheeses.

Customers can curl up on a couch with a tasting plate, surrounded by shelves of antique or new books. Polished wooden floors, soaring windows and wine barrel tables complete the space [Sarah Norgrove, "Bookstore Adds Wine to Its Catalogue," Reuters via Yahoo News, 2010.01.10].

Some classic books, maybe some jazz in the background... sounds like great downtown atmosphere to me!
