Commissioner Leighton Dies; County Offices Close Thursday P.M. for Funeral

Shirlee Leighton, Lake County Commissioner, died yesterday at the age of 73. She had suffered a stroke following bypass surgery last week. She was a forthright and energetic public servant, not to mention a good neighbor. She served on the commission for 18 years.

Prayer service is this evening (Wednesday) at Weiland Funeral Chapel, 7 p.m. Funeral is tomorrow (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church here in Madison.
