Miracle Treat Day 2008
Welcome to RealMadison.org's coverage of Miracle Treat Day 2008 (Thursday, August 7) at the Madison Dairy Queen in Madison, South Dakota.
On Miracle Treat Day, the proceeds from every Blizzard sold at participating Dairy Queens go to the Children's Miracle Network, which helps families deal with expenses when their kids get sick. The Madison Dairy Queen has been the leading Miracle Treat Day fundraiser in North America, selling over 3800 Blizzards on MTD 2006, then topping that with 7011 sold on MTD 2007. (Remember, that's more Blizzards than there are people in Madison!) In 2008, the Madison Dairy Queen hopes to crack the 8,000 mark.
The Madville Times provided all-day coverage of Miracle Treat Day 2007 at the Madison Dairy Queen with updates, photos, and interviews. This year that coverage moves here to RealMadison.org, where everyone in Madison and Lake County can log in not only to read about the event but also submit their own photos and stories about Miracle Treat Day
So help out, Madison! Come get a Blizzard, then add to this record of Miracle Treat Day:
- Submit a photo of you with your friends and your Blizzards.
- Write a blog post about how Children's Miracle Network has helped you, your kids, or your neighbors.
- Blog about why Madison's Dairy Queen is the best anywhere!
- If you've got your techno-wits about you, make a Blizzard/Miracle Treat Day video, post it on YouTube, and embed it in a blog post here.
Come up with whatever content you think would make a good addition to this record of a great community event. Let the world know that Madison really is #1 when it comes to rallying for a good cause... and eating ice cream!
